PREAMBLE AND NET SCRIPT FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN NC TRAFFIC NET
(Revised Friday, February 13, 2009)

This is __________ now calling the Southeastern North Carolina Traffic Net.  This is a directed net and participates in the National Traffic System.  I am your net control for this evening, my name is __________ and I am located in ______________, North Carolina.

Do we have any Stations with EMERGENCY or PRIORITY traffic, emergency or priority traffic ONLY, please call __________.

 PREAMBLE BEGINS

The purpose of this net is provide communications and train operators in the proper method of handling messages during emergencies, to learn net operations and procedures, pass traffic, make announcements and to post bulletins, to foster fellowship among amateurs; and provide a means of passing tactical information between participating Counties.

ARES or Skywarn Nets may supersede this net in times of Emergency.

An informal discussion can follow the formal portion of the net tonight.  All amateurs, within range of this repeater, with or without traffic are cordially invited to participate.

HANDLE FORMAL TRAFFIC AFTER CHECK-INS; CALL, IN ORDER, THE STATIONS DESIGNATED TO RECEIVE TRAFFIC. 
IMPORTANT: The PROPER way to handle traffic is to CALL RECEIVER AND TELL THEM TO CALL SENDER AND GIVE MESSAGE.  RECEIVER ROGERS MESSAGE AND TURNS BACK TO NCS.

CHECKINS BEGIN:

OK, let’s move into check-ins starting with Mobile or short-time stations. Short-time stations are those stations that cannot stay for the entire net. Mobile stations may be either short-time or stay for the entire net including the informal comments so, if you are a mobile station please let me know if you are short time or sticking around. All mobile and short time stations please check in by calling Net Control __________.
